O Mortality!By Catherine Fisher
I skipped a stone along the sky and it fell off into the sea oft I thought how it got so high but downstairs I get thoughts for free.
O Dementia!
Will you find me in my bed where happy dreams race through my head where they once thought that I was dead?
I ate my way to China but they sent me right back home I like the Orient not North Carolina there they have helmets made outta foam.
O Paranoia!
Will you chase me when I've fled when the sun sinks and turns red when happy dreams are all but dead?
I flew up to the Underworld to see what I would find but as the wings of Hell unfurled I thought I might change my mind.
O Redolence, O Rot, O Pulchritude, O Putrescence!
Will you come when away my life has bled when my Mortality feels like a weight of lead when my eyes close and They proclaim "She is dead!" © Catherine Fisher |
